Hello friends welcome back to the Money Back Guarantee. To start this Halloween week off right (I say that loosely) let’s rehash a Sheerin spooky. Yes I have a bad beat to talk about.

Sunday May 4th, 2025. This day the fourth was not with, get it? Blue Jets game 7 in Winnipeg. I bet Blues 3 way and under 5.5 for the game. For those who don’t know, 3 way means you bet either one of the teams to win in regulation or for the game to end in a tie. I just liked the way the Blues were playing and the Jets had come up short so many times I bet the road team. And for 58 minutes it was a great bet. Blues took an early 2-0 lead in the first and another 2 goal lead to end the 2nd up 3-1. Then with less than 2 minutes to go Vlad Namestnikov scores to make it 3-2. Okay, this will be stressful but hey if they were all easy it wouldn’t be interesting right? I’ll never forget this moment. I’m sitting in my car in the parking garage at MetroPark train station. The Jets are peppering the goal with less than a minute left. I begin to bargain, I’ll take the empty net and lose the under it’s fine just see it out Blues.

About 3 seconds the puck finds Cole Perfetti in the slot who perfectly tips it in. I sat in total silence in the car for a good 5-10 minutes after. The worst part about losing a bet like that is you jump on social media after and have to see people celebrating your heartbreak in a flood of isn’t playoff hockey awesome tweets. In that moment, no playoff hockey sucked.

Before we get to business let’s talk about last week. The blog went 2-2 -0.14 because I overthought a pick and swapped NC State for Boston College. That’s on me folks. For the season we’re 20-15 +4.14 units. We got back to winning ways on the Best Bet, thank god. That record now sits at 4-5 -1.35 units. One at a time on the best bet. We’ll be okay. For the season long pick off with my counter part Tyler my record is 15-12 and Tyler sits at 13-11. This has been an absolute battle all season long. Now to the business.

Utah @ Cincinnati +7.5 O/U 56.5

This is an interesting spot for both teams. Cincy coming off their biggest win of the Satterfield era. Utah with a huge effort to beat Houston, and the prospect of the Holy War next week. Give me the home dog in this situation. Cincinnati +7.5 -115.

Mississippi State @ Texas -20.5 O/U 50.5

Commiserations to any Mississippi State fans out there. Losing Kamario Taylor is a back breaker. The question is did Texas actually turn a corner last week? I’m not sure they did completely but I think they have enough to take it to the bulldogs here. Texas -20.5 -106.

Ohio State @ USC +6.5 O/U 51.5

Safe to say the Lincoln Riley era might be coming to an end for the men of Troy. That performance in Madison last week was a disaster. Ohio State comes into this without Julian Sayin as we know by now. I think Ryan Day goes super conservative and Lincoln Riley’s offense is soft as it gets. We’ll take the under 51.5 -105.

Best Bet

Minnesota @ Indiana -20.5 O/U 41.5

Minnesota has been a pesky team all season long in the Big Ten and Indiana is still trying to find consistency to their game. I think Fleck and the Gophers muck this one up big time. We’ll take under 41.5 -110 for best bet of the week.
