Year To Date: 10-8 (+0.75 units)
We are back for another week of winners. I can’t believe it’s already Week 7, time really does fly when you’re doing what you love (sweating out bets over athletes that can’t even drink legally). Last week wasn’t the best, I gave out two absolute duds that had no chance of winning. Luckily my last bet was an easy winner that gives me a little confidence going into this Saturday. Let’s get to work.
Northwestern Team Total Over 27.5 vs Michigan State -125

Boy, how things have changed in Evanston over the last year. The Wildcats have a new coaching staff, new quarterback, a beautiful new stadium, and a new life surrounding the program. Head Coach David Braun has done a wonderful job building up the program in the last few years, and things have finally come to a head in 2026 after he made the genius decision to bring in Chip Kelly to be his new Offensive Coordinator. Couple that new hire with the addition of new quarterback Aidan Chiles who has completely changed the narrative around his play over the last few years and Northwestern is cooking with gas. Chiles is sure to have some extra motivation this week, as he goes up against the team he spent the last two years with in Michigan State on the road. Chip Kelly is using Chiles perfectly in his offense. Make the quick reads, stay on the underneath routes, and if nothing is open then use Chiles’ legs to make a play. Chiles stat line doesn’t light the world on fire (1,172 pass yards, 9 TD, 0 INT) but his ability to avoid turnovers by playing safe, and then scamper for yardage when the play allows (6 rush TD’s), is what makes the Wildcat offense look so great. On the other side, Michigan State is a mess. The defense hasn’t been able to stop anyone, and in the last three weeks they have given up over the 27.5 that Northwestern is projected this week. Play fast, get a few stops, and have this over hit by the third quarter. In Chip Kelly we trust.
Alabama -6.5 vs Tennessee -115

After a tough loss against one of the best teams in the country, this is the perfect bounce back spot for the Crimson Tide. At the moment, Tennessee doesn’t have much of an offensive identity. They benched 5-star recruit Faizon Brandon in favor of backup quarterback George MacIntyre, and while McIntyre wasn’t bad in his first start against Arkansas last week, he also didn’t inspire much confidence. Star running back DeSean Bishop has been able to buoy the offense so far, but he hasn’t exactly gone up against the toughest of schedules outside of playing Texas, easily his worst game of the season. Tennessee’s offensive line has been a mess so far, I fully expect the Alabama defense to make life miserable for them again, taking out the frustrations of their loss last week on the Volunteers in Knoxville. Kalen DeBoer seems to finally have his preferred pieces in place, and Keelon Russell continues to impress running DeBoer’s high powered offense. These are two teams on completely different trajectories. Alabama is trending upwards, and Tennessee has a ton of glaring weaknesses, and even more questions. The Crimson Tide should come into this game pissed off and looking to run up the score against an SEC opponent.
Oregon State Team Total Over 34.5 vs Washington State -125

I am so fully in on this Oregon State team, it might actually be a problem. The offense is one of the best in the country, and people are FINALLY giving them some recognition. The last few weeks I have waxed poetic about Braden Atkinson and Jesse Legree, they are possibly the most electric duo in the sport right now. Somehow the script is always the same with this team, an early touchdown in the first quarter, followed up by a defensive stop, getting the ball back and scoring again, and then a turnover leading to another score. The best part? This usually happens by the end of the first quarter. Just last week the Beavers hit their total before halftime. The team scored 66 points and made it look insanely easy, I couldn’t believe my eyes. This week they go up against a more stout defense than in the past few games. Washington State is 1-5 on the year, but a big reason for this is the lack of offense. In six games the Cougars still haven’t allowed a team to score 35 points, something you wouldn’t really expect out of a team with such a poor record. Am I saying this will be easy? Of course not. Do I believe in what Head Coach JaMarcus Shephard is building in Corvallis? More than anything else in the world. Going forward, this may be an auto-bet. I’m riding with the Beavers until the wheels fall off.
