Hello friends, I can’t believe I’m already writing up the picks for Week 6. This season is flying by.

A few thoughts before we get to the picks. I start off with the Auburn Tigers. All is not well on the plains. Hugh Freeze was brought in prior to the 2023 season. We’re in year 3 and let’s face it, the Tigers are heading towards another disappointing season. Freeze has staked his offense on Payton Thorne twice (bet you’ve forgotten all about Payton Thorne) and now Jackson Arnold. Arnold was a coveted recruit 3 years ago but it’s just not working for him at the collegiate level. He signed highly rated recruit Duce Knight in the last recruiting cycle but he hasn’t gotten any playing time yet. I think if money wasn’t an issue Freeze would be gone but the buyout will be a factor here.

Big game last week at Penn State. And like so many others in the Franklin era it ended in disappointment. Did you know Franklin is now 4-21 against top 10 teams? I’m not sure what the answer is here. Penn State wins the games they are supposed to but never elevates their play when it matters.

Looking at the board this weekend I think this is an Apple picking weekend. If you want to treat your partner to a fall day (despite the beautiful forecast by me) I think this is the Saturday to do it. Get out there do what you have to do then be home for Miami FSU at 7:30.

Last week we went 3-1 +1.72 units bringing the season total to 16-12 +2.38 units. Side bar, I hope you took my advice and played Illinois ML. Back to the business. My oh my the best bet continues to roll on. Notre Dame Arkansas over cashed meaning we’re now 7-0 +6.05 units. Tell your friends, loved ones bet the best bet. Buy yourself a new pair of shoes. Now for the picks…

Kentucky @ Georgia -20.5 O/U 48.5

I was very disappointed in how the Dawgs played Saturday night. They let another one slip away against Bama. Bama went 13/19 on 3rd down which is absolutely insane. I’m predicting a sleep start here. Noon kickoff I think Georgia will look to control the clock here. I’ll take the under 48.5 -110.

Wisconsin @ Michigan -16.5 O/U 43.5

Last time out the Wolverines went to Nebraska and won by 3 in a sloppy effort to be honest. Wisconsin got spanked at Camp Randall against Maryland. Interesting spot with both teams coming off the bye. I think the Wolverines are better in every facet of the game. Look for the Maize and Blue to turn Bryce Underwood and Justice Haynes loose early. Michigan -9.5 1H -9.5 -120.

Miami @ Florida State +4.5 O/U 53.5

College football heritage will be on display in Tallahassee Saturday night. This is a game that decided National Championships back in the day. You can always count on this game to be very physical. I talked about Miami as the team I’d bet to win the title last week. They’ve been outstanding so far this season. I think the Noles could present some challenges come Saturday. Notre Dame found success late when CJ Carr used his legs against the Miami Defense. I think Castellanos makes enough plays to keep this interesting. Seminoles +4.5 -114.

Best Bet

Boise State @ Notre Dame -20.5 O/U 62.5

I’m not going to over complicate things here. The Notre Dame offense is absolutely humming. CJ Carr is playing as well as any Quarterback in the country. The best bet is Fighting Irish team total over 41.5 -118.
