In case you ever needed a reminder of pure Mets fandom all you had to do is watch today’s New York Mets game.
The Mets remarkably found a way to lose back to back games to the lowly Washington Nationals (dropping their record vs the Nats to 7-6 on the season). The Reds just closed out a win to sweep the Cubs at home dropping the Mets behind Cincy.
Jacob Young vaulted himself into Mets lore today for the worst reasons. Jacob Young potentially joins Mets killers like Chipper Jones, Yadi Molina, Connor Gillespie etc. in the hallowed halls of ball players who have stuck the absolute stale in our hearts.
The first catch is absolutely inexplicable. Devil magic at work. How the fuck does that hit off his foot? Give me a break.
As if once wasn’t enough he then turned around and got us again in the 9th! Alvarez smokes a ball to center and this prick does this. Can’t make it up.
The Mets faced off against two of the worst statistical pitchers in baseball today. Let’s see how they did!

Very good! This team has not come through in one big moment all season. 0-67 in games when trailing after 8. A team that was beloved for their heart and scrappiness last season simply doesn’t have that this season.
Big picture the 2025 New York Mets died today. In case you had any doubt left it’s over. This team has been below average since June/July. It’s just not going to happen this season. I’ll have more when the dust settles. Last thing I’ll say, fuck this team.
