Hello friends, welcome back to another edition of the Money Back Guarantee. Last week was a good one. Overall the picks went 4-2 +1.5 units. The best bets also cashed meaning that’s 4-0 +3.5 units. The season long record is 8-7 +0.08 units. If we can start chaining together 4-2 weeks we could have a special season on our hands.

Admittedly this will be a lighter card, it’s just not the best slate of games. Now that I’ve put that out in the ether I’m sure will get some insane upsets or something.

Before we get to the picks there is one thing I have to mention. I brought this up last year as well. As I write this it is September 11th. If you live in this area you know somebody directly or indirectly who was touched by the events of September 11th. Take some time to watch this video about Welles Crowther, the Man in the Red Bandana, who so selflessly laid down his life for so many.

Now for the picks…

Georgia at Tennessee +3.5 O/U 49.5

Tennessee is a feel good story early in the season. I don’t have to rehash the Nico drama it’s been talked to death. The Vols have some injures on the back end. They are still missing Jermod McCoy they are now also without the other starting CB Rickey Gibson who has an undisclosed injury. I just think Kirby has something up his sleeve heading to Knoxville. The Dawgs are yet to really break a sweat this season having handled Marshall and Austin Peay. I’m taking a risk on Gunnar Stockton in his first true SEC road game. Give me the Dawgs -3.5 -110.

Remember the name.

Minnesota at Cal +2.5 O/U 42.5

Here’s something I didn’t think I would do before the season. I’m betting Cal +2.5 -106. Walk with me here. Have you seen Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele?

I don’t think Cal has had this talented a passer since a certain Aaron Rodgers was on campus in Berkeley. I think this is a weird spot for the Golden Gophers. A trip to the west coast before conference play begins next week. I wish it was 3.5 but I’ll take the risk on the hook.

Clemson at Georgia Tech +3.5 O/U 52.5

I truly have no feel for a side in this game. There has been no more disappointing team in the country to this point than the Clemson Tigers. The people have spoken this line has been hammered by the public. A 3 point drop during the week is crazy. While everyone has a right to be skeptical of Clemson there’s questions about the health of Haynes King who missed last week’s game. Although I am a fan of back up QB Aaron Philo it’s a significant step up in competition. I think both teams lean on clock control and their defenses. We’ll take the under 52.5 -110.

Hold Your Nose Special

Public joe and all the square bettors will scoff at this pick. But I’m going to take a flier here. Oklahoma just picked up a huge home win. John Mateer is getting some Heisman talk. Now they have to go to the Linc to play little old Temple. Take the risk on a sleepy start here I wish it was point higher you’re just below a critical football number but I’ll take Temple 1H +13.5 -104.

Side note. I wish I could get there to take Mississippi State, this is an all time let down spot but I just can’t get there with Alcorn State. I cannot in good faith give that out.

USF at Miami -17.5 O/U 57.5

The University of South Florida Bulls have been the story in college football so far this season. They stunned Boise early then shocked the college football world by going to Gainesville and beating the Florida Gators. That’s 2 physically and emotionally taxing games in a row. I think Miami controls the line of scrimmage. Give me The U -17.5 -105
