How we doing everybody! Hopefully you had a good weekend and enjoyed some baseball, preferably at the ballpark as spring officially arrives. If you missed out, we have a wide variety of stories from our national pastime, so for the first time this season, let’s go around the horn!
First Base

Spider-Man on the Bump: We begin with a story out of the whacky world of sports, with lefty Patrick Corbin winning his first start game of the year in some odd circumstances. Corbin hurled five a third innings of one run ball Wednesday night, but later revealed he almost scratched from the game. Corbin complained of a bite on his ankle the morning of the game, which made him sick. He and the ball club didn’t think much of it, but it turned out he had been bit by a poisonous spider. So if he starts to climb the walls, don’t be surprised.
Second Base
The Winds Blow at Wrigley: They say you can tell what kind of game it’s going to be at Wrigley in the first inning. Why? Because of how the wind blows off of Lake Michigan. If the wind is blowing in, the ball doesn’t fly, and if it blows out, anticipate your starter leaving early. Friday was one of those days, with the Cubs and inning a wild one 13-11, thanks to a barrage of 8th inning homers, featuring a blast by the red hot Kyle Tucker. Tucker is hitting .315, with 6 homers and 23 RBI’s, an MVP level start for the Cubbies big addition.
Third Base

Crooked Numbers at Camden: There are long days at the Yard, and then there is the Orioles Easter Sunday. The O’s have scuffled so far and the wheels came off in the series finale with the Reds, as they dropped the game 24-2. The Reds banged out 25 hits in the game, chasing Charlie Morton after just two and a third innings. The loss dropped Baltimore to 9-12, while the Reds moved to 11-11, and just two games from first place in the Central.
Home Plate

Embattled Braves: Our final story comes from Atlanta, where the drama is brewing. The Braves are off to a nightmare start, at 8-13. As if things can’t get worse, the team is now dealing with off the field drama from an unlikely source. Star player Ronald Acuna Jr. is nearing a return from his 2nd career ACL tear, but decided to chime in on Brian Snitker’s dugout decision making. That decision making, tied back to event in this editions cover image, as Jarred Kelenic failed to run on a ball that he thought was leaving the yard. Not running led to him being thrown out at 2nd, and he stayed in the game despite the mistake. Acuna took to twitter to say had it been him, Snitker would have sat him down mid game. Whether that’s true or not, this mess is not something the Braves need right now at all.
