Year To Date: 16-21-1 (-6.3 units)
Finally back on the winning side of things for the first time in a while, and boy does it feel good. I guess my threat of retirement was enough to kick me into gear. We’re finally into the best part of the season, the playoffs are right around the corner and we get to sit back and watch so many meaningful games while pigging out on Thanksgiving leftovers. It could be so much better if we paired that with some winning picks, so let’s make some money.
Kansas Moneyline vs Baylor (-110)

Sticking with the hot hand approach here. Kansas has been on an absolute war path over the last month, absolutely crushing the dreams of a majority of the Big 12 conference. Since last week’s picks went so well we’re going to stick with the game plan of picking off pure vibes, and there might not be a better team to follow right now than the Jayhawks. Jalon Daniels and Devin Neal are both lighting it up over this hot stretch, and the defensive unit has held their own. Look for Kansas to keep feeding Neal as he looks to replicate his 4 TD performance from a week ago, now going up against a pretty rough Baylor run defense that is giving up 150 yards per game on the ground. Add in the fact that Kansas are looking to become bowl eligible with a win, and I’ll back the more desperate team.
Notre Dame -7 vs USC

I backed the Trojans last week in the Battle of LA, but this week I’ll be praying on their downfall. As a true Notre Dame hater this hurts me a lot, but they look like they’re hitting their stride at the perfect time with the playoffs right around the corner. USC quarterback Jayden Maiava showed flashes of brilliance late in last weeks game, but I just don’t think he can do that over an entire four quarters against a very stout Fighting Irish defense. Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard had a very rough start to the year throwing the ball, but he’s gotten back on track as of late. Best case scenario here is that Leonard won’t even need to throw much due to the strong Irish run game. Just hand the ball off to Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price and watch them go to work.
Vanderbilt +11 vs Tennessee

With Tennessee firmly in the hunt for a playoff spot this feels like a risky bet, but from what we’ve seen out of Vanderbilt this year, they will be able to muck up this game and keep it within striking distance. Tennessee ha a bad habit of not striking early and letting teams stay in games that they have no right to, the Commodores are the perfect team to take advantage of this fact, and while I don’t think it happens, they could absolutely pull off an outright upset. If this game was on Tennessee’s home field I might have a different opinion, but taking those crazy fans out of the game should only help Vanderbilt here. Diego Pavia has been a godsend for a Commodore team that has surpassed every expectation, he is as gritty as they come and won’t back away from a challenge. Look for Vanderbilt to make this one a nail biter even if they have no right to do so.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and don’t forget that stuffing is the best Thanksgiving food item, mashed potatoes are overrated, and pumpkin pie belongs in the trash.
