Year To Date: 14-20-1 (-7.1 units)
We have officially hit the wall. Back to back weeks winless, and now we are down a whole heap ton of money, and I have no one to blame but myself. The last two weeks have been an absolute disaster, and I have had to take a long, hard look in the mirror. I may be a dumb person, but there’s just no way I’m THIS dumb. With that being said I am going to be forced to change my mindset when making these picks. Am I just overthinking everything? Am I doing too much research? Am I cursed? It might be a yes to all three, and there’s one way to figure it out. If I somehow go 0-3 again this week I will be forcing myself into an early retirement. Trust me, I don’t want to do this, I thoroughly enjoy writing for the masses, but I simply cannot continue to give out losers at this rate. I’m changing the game here and giving out three quick hitters. Bets are simply off vibes, follow at your own risk.
USC -4.5 vs UCLA

A matchup between two underperforming teams from the Golden State, I’m backing the team that made a drastic change in order to turn the tides of their season. USC has gone to Jayden Maiava at quarterback, and he immediately brought a spark to the offense that Miller Moss hadn’t. The UCLA defense has been one of the main reasons that their season has turned a corner, but their offense has been dreadful for a majority of the year. I’m riding the Trojans and the immense talent of their offense backed by studs Woody Marks and Zachariah Branch.
Miami vs Wake Forest Over 66

Cam Ward has faded significantly in the Heisman race over the last few weeks. It may be too late for him to make a run at the trophy, but if there’s a time it needs to be now. The Miami Hurricanes are coming off of a bye, with an extra week to rest up and get their mind right I expect Ward to try and put up some ridiculous numbers against a very bad Wake Forest defense. The Hurricanes defense isn’t anything to write home about either, so I do think Wake Forest can at least put up enough points that Miami won’t have to do all of the heavy lifting.
Minnesota +11 vs Penn State

As the resident Penn State fan for the site, I can see the writing on the wall for this one. I fully expect Penn State to leave Minneapolis with a win, but this has all the makings of a grind it out, close, ugly win. James Franklin is not a good coach, and while he has shown the ability to beat up on lesser teams in the past and cover spreads, this Minnesota team isn’t a pushover. PJ Fleck is going to have his team ready to play, especially at home. The Golden Gophers have a chance to ruin Penn State’s chances at making their first playoff and will have to lean heavily on their defense to pull off an outright upset. Minnesota’s defensive line matches up well against a strong Penn State run game, and their solid group of secondary players should be able to back off an underwhelming receiver group for the Nittany Lions and target star Tight End Tyler Warren. I can already envision myself sitting on the couch sweating out the end of this one, knowing full well that this could have been a cake walk if James Franklin didn’t make another one or two bone headed play calls that didn’t work out like he’s prone to doing every week. Come back to this paragraph next week, I have a strong feeling I will have hit the nail on the head.
