From the pen of Mike Sheerin;

Let’s get ahead of this. Last week was awful 1-4 is a disgrace. I took Emeka Okafor and Caron Butler, I’m sorry. So far we’re 3-7 -4.27 units which is objectively a bad start but there’s plenty of time to right the ship so let’s all relax.

Before the picks I do want to talk about something I’ve been noticing. I’ve heard some whispers that this is an apple picking weekend. If you’re reading this at home and you’re a single guy or gal you can skip this. But for my relationship people this is important. As football fans we would love nothing more than to rot on the couch each Saturday order some Chinese food or pizza and not move. Sometimes real life obligations can interfere with football. One of those obligations is a fall day with your partner be it apple picking, going to a pumpkin patch or a haunted hayride. I recommend getting ahead of such an event by looking at the football schedule early and picking a Saturday that you don’t mind skipping. The last thing you want is for it to be October 12th and the Red River Shootout is about to kick off and you’re throwing on a flannel heading to a corn maze. My official ruling on the matter for this Saturday is that while it is a bit of a vanilla slate it’s not quite apple picking season so you should be in the clear. Now for some picks.

Alabama @ Wisconsin +16.5 o/u 49.5

Crimson Tide -16.5. Yes I’m telling you to play the tide again. Last week they played one of the sloppiest games I’ve ever seen from an Alabama team. 13 penalties 3 fumbles lost, oh and they still won by 26. I’m not buying Tyler Van Dyke and this Wisconsin team and for that reason I’ll also add under 49.5 Roll tide roll.

Michigan desperately needs Edwards to get going

Arkansas State @ Michigan -22.5 o/u 47.5

Last week was an unmitigated disaster for the Maize and Blue. Texas went into their house and punk’d them. With that said I like this bounce back spot for the Wolverines. I think the running game gets going and the defense will maybe create a few short field opportunities for the offense. Michigan -22.5

Head coach Curt Cignetti has the Hoosiers looking good

Indiana @ UCLA +3.5 o/u 46.5

No it has not hit me yet that this is a conference game. The fighting Curt Cignetti’s are off to a very good 2-0 start. Kurtis Rourke has been good at QB and the defense has been very active. Give me the Hoosiers -3.5 on the road.

“Our favorite teams bring people together, keep family members close, bond people from different generations. Some of the happiest moments of my life involve something that happened with one of my teams.”
