Labor Day has passed and summer is (un)officially over. Now we roll into week 2 of the college football season. Last week we were a disappointing 2-3 (-1.18 units). South Carolina and Florida were objectively terrible picks and the LSU USC over was doomed when the Tigers failed to score a touchdown in a goal to go situation in the first quarter. That’s in the past now let’s dive into week 2.

Iowa State @ Iowa -3 o/u 35.5

The Cy-Hawk Trophy is renowned for being a physical defensive battle. In the last 5 years the scoring totals have been 33, 17, 44, 35 and 16. I know the Iowa offense exploded for 40 last week but I predict this game to stay in line with the low scoring trend. I’ll take under 35.5.

Cal @ Auburn -13.5 o/u 53.5

Gameday on the plains will feature a battle between two of the best running backs in the country. Jarquez Hunter of Auburn and Jadyn Ott of Cal. Cal was able to pull away in the second half against Cal-Davis but clearly Auburn in Jordan-Hare Stadium is a different monster. Peyton Thorne has plenty of weapons at his disposal and I reckon that will overwhelm Cal. I’ll take Auburn -13.5.

USF @ Alabama -30.5 o/u 63.5

The Tide rolled last week against Western Kentucky. Kalen DeBoer walked into a stacked deck with this Crimson Tide team. The Tide had plenty of explosive plays. Running back Justice Haynes and receiver Ryan Williams led the way both posting over 100 yards on a few touches and the defense was stingy. Don’t overthink this go back to the well. Roll Tide Roll -30.5.

Western Michigan @ Ohio State -37.5 o/u 53.5

The Buckeyes spread last week was ridiculous to be honest. It was damn near 50 points which means you basically need a perfect 4 quarters. Now they come into week 2 facing a MAC opponent and the number is under 40? Yeah I’ll take the Buckeyes -37.5.

Utah State @ USC -28.5 o/u 63.5

Guess what’s back, back again *to the tune of without me by eminem* that’s right hold your nose take your vitamins and say your prayers. USC just had there biggest win in a few years. Snow angels in confetti on the field, Miller Moss getting incredible hype. That means it’s time to zag. Give me Utah State 1H +17.5.
