Did you enjoy the appetizer known as week zero last week? If you’re a Florida State fan you probably didn’t but the rest of us did. Now it’s time for a real slate. In these blogs I’ll give you 3-5 of my picks a week. I take these picks so we’re in this together. With that said let’s dive into it.

A lot will be asked of LaNorris Sellers

Old Dominion @ South Carolina -20.5 o/u 52.5

As I’ve written on this blog before the team I follow closest in the SEC is the South Carolina Gamecocks, heading into this season there is optimism in Columbia. Redshirt freshman Quarterback LaNorris Sellers is a large reason for that optimism. I’m also intrigued to watch the South Carolina defense they return a bunch of starters from last years team. Old Dominion ranks 94th in returning production and starting at Williams-Brice is a tall task. Give me the Gamecocks -20.5.

Can Billy Napier save his job?

Miami -2.5 @ Florida o/u 54.5

Miami dominated headlines this offseason they won the portal and they have playoff potential meanwhile all the Florida Gators have heard is how Billy Napier is going to get fired and this schedule is too much for them to handle. I think the swamp will be a madhouse and this will be a very competitive ball game. Give me the Gators +2.5

Georgia Tech stunned the Noles

Georgia State @ Georgia Tech -20.5 o/u 55.5

Georgia Tech flew over to Dublin and physically took it to the top 10 ranked Florida State Seminoles. What a win for Brent Key and his team. They have another conference game next week on the road at the Carrier Dome against Syracuse. In the words of Lee Corso “not so fast my friend” I call this pick the hold your nose special of the week. That’s a lot of travel after a huge win. I think Georgia State catches them napping early so give me Georgia State +11.5 in the first half.

Can Jalen Milroe improve as a passer?

Western Kentucky @ Alabama -31.5 o/u 59.5

Do you like stats? Kalen DeBoer is 8-1 in his career in opening games. Western Kentucky heads to Tuscaloosa with a roster featuring a whopping 33 transfers. One of those transfers is TJ Finley which leads me to ask, how the hell is that guy still in college? Don’t overthink this one folks. The Tide rolls in Bryant-Denny Stadium give me Alabama -31.5.

Can Miller Moss fill the shoes of Caleb Williams?

USC vs LSU -4.5 (neutral) o/u 64.5

The Sunday night game taking place in Las Vegas features two teams with big aspirations but a lot of questions. For the Trojans how does Miller Moss play? Will new defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn be the solution to USC’s defensive woes? On the other hand the Tigers face huge turnover on offense and brought in a new defensive coordinator themselves after a dreadful season on defense. I think this game has points points points written all over it. Give me over 64.5.

“Our favorite teams bring people together, keep family members close, bond people from different generations. Some of the happiest moments of my life involve something that happened with one of my teams.”
